This course will identify the changing human factors that have increased significantly over the past two decades, and how these factors will influence design in commercial, healthcare, educational and other settings. Disabilities focused on are neurological/medical-based such as autism, ADHD, asthma, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and traumatic brain injuries. Design principles for creating optimal environments will be discussed, including minimizing exposure to toxins that can exacerbate existing symptoms.
